Getting started with IDI Pilot
IDI Pilot is where flights, aircraft, compliance and job requests all live, so the record builds itself as your team works. This page covers the first hour.
Where to start
What to do first depends on why you were given an account. Find yourself below.
Managers and owners
Invite your team from Team, add your aircraft and docks under Fleet & Assets, then work incoming requests from the Job Board. Optionally connect your force directory in Settings so an officer’s name and shoulder number fill themselves in.
Pilots
Taskings shows what you have been asked to fly. Run a pre-flight assessment for airspace, weather and site risk, then log the flight - or let the field app log it and check it afterwards. Your manager sets the six-digit PIN that unlocks the app on your phone.
Reporters (requesting officers)
Raise a job request, pick the location on the map and let the address fill itself in. Every request carries a reference and a live status you can track, and you can message the drone team directly if something changes on the ground.
Viewers
Read-only access to the flight log, post-flight analytics and compliance. Useful for oversight, audit and anybody who needs the numbers without touching the operation.
Setting up, in order
-
Accept your invitation
The invitation email takes you to a page where you set a password. That confirms the account and puts you in the right organisation with the right role.
-
Finish the setup checklist
The dashboard home page carries a checklist of what your organisation still needs. Nothing is locked behind it - it is a prompt, not a gate - and it disappears once the required items are done.
-
Invite the people who will use it
Each person gets their own invitation and their own role. Roles matter: a reporter never sees operational data, and a viewer cannot change anything.
-
Install it on a phone
The dashboard installs as an app from the browser - "Add to Home Screen" on iPhone, "Install app" on Android. Pilots in the field get a tab bar, offline queuing and a PIN lock.
